This light attractive garden studio is equipped with The Pilates Reformer, Tower Attachment, Pilates Chair and Spine Corrector Arc.

The Pilates Chair provides a comprehensive body workout to strengthen your core, upper body and legs. Both standing and seated work on this apparatus using the controlled spring tension can help improve balance, co-ordination, posture and strength. As you strengthen and tone you will look better and feel the difference.

We can use the spine corrector to open out the front of the body and counteract our  everyday activites which encourage so much flexion from sitting to computer based work, to loading up a dishwasher, to cooking and cleaning and so much more….

The Pilates Reformer (see photo image) is a great way to take your mat Pilates workout to the next level. It is a dynamic item of apparatus that significantly expands the repetoire of Pilates exercises. It was originally designed by Joseph Pilates using a framework that could either assist or challenge the user based on his or her individuals needs and proficiency.

Clients coming to me for a Reformer session often say it helps them to do their matwork exercises better as they feel a deeper core connection and it enables them to find the correct muscle recruitment. It has also enabled clients to achieve various matwork Pilates exercises that they have struggled to do well on the mat ! For example , short spine a prelude to the mat ‘Roll Over’.

Nearly all clients want to master the famous Pilates Roll back ! We can achieve this segmental articulation through the spine using abdominal core strength with the adjustable resistance provided with the ropes and springs.

On the reformer we stabilise and strengthen your core, shoulders, hips, abs and spine on a moveable carriage using varied spring resistance. The Reformer is ideal for older adults too because after the age of 60 there is a decrease in strength with reduced muscle mass (sarcopenia) and bone density. We can help to reduce and slow down this loss using spring resistance to challenge, support and target different muscle groups. The springs also enable you to stretch further. Put simply, it lengthens you ! The Pilates Reformer is an excellent resource for people with osteoporosis. Resistance training is essential for maintaining bone density. Stronger muscles make for stronger bones!

Therapeutic programmes can be formulated with a particular focus in collaboration with health professionals following a clinical movement analysis. Reformer Pilates is regarded as low impact exercise, gentle enough to reduce the stress on injured joints and muscles making it suitable for people recovering from injury as it should not exacerbate pain or strain.

Why not experience a reformer workout and session! You will not only feel and look taller but feel uplifted, re energised and relaxed after your session.
