Previously I worked as a teacher in various roles within Education from 1978. From 1999, I studied and qualified in Complementary Therapies to degree level. Together, these backgrounds inform my holistic approach to my work in teaching Pilates and ability to teach and communicate well with clarity and sound explanation.

My journey into fitness started with the ChiBall Method in 2003, a synergy of different mind body programmes of exercise (Tai Chi, dance, yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais and relaxation). I chose to specialise in Pilates from 2006 and have now been teaching this methodology very successfully in community halls, gyms, running workshops and retreats abroad in Sicily.

I am a tutor and assessor involved in the training of Pilates students for the award winning company Future Fit and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and expertise with the students on the course.

As an enthusiastic teacher committed to furthering my skills and learning, I keep updated in the Pilates industry and have recently broadened my qualification in Exercise Referral to include Therapeutic Exercise for conditions and Reformer Exercise Therapy (Level 4 Award). I have a special interest in Pilates for Osteoporosis and the management of this condition through exercise and nutrition. I have attended additional training in the area of bone health and keep up to date with the latest research and interventions. If you wish to find out more please refer to the relevant blogs on this website and also to my new blog site : www.pilatesforosteoporosis.co.uk.

I find it very rewarding to make a positive difference to other people’s lives and strive to offer the best service to you, my client.

I enjoy working one to one from my home/garden studio where I tailor the exercises specifically to your needs providing expert tuition and a home practice exercise programme for you following each session.

As a Pilates teacher I will help you to reach your full movement potential and improve the quality of your movement. Being able to do the things you love doing is vitally important and contributes to your sense of well being and quality of life. Pilates is much more than an exercise programme – its a lifestyle with a holistic approach to living life well and being the best you can be. As we grow into our advancing years being able to lift our groceries, play with our grandchildren, climb stairs with ease, or go for an enjoyable walk, Pilates enhances our strength and coordination needed for daily activities.

Now more than ever, in these challenging economical times with limited NHS resources, it is important to invest in your own health and well being.
